PoolStar was established in 2006 by owner/operator Kevin Humphreys. Kevin is a British Transplant who proudly received his US citizenship in 2008. In his formative years he traveled the world on a backpacker budget before deciding to get serious about a career. He started off in IT with a Software Engineering certification but eventually started to think about opening his own business and looked into a number of industries. One day he encountered the pool maintenance business. Kevin has always had a strong work ethic and felt like he could put in what it took to mentally and physically work with swimming pools. He started with 25 customers and has grown it to the well-established business today that serves Las Vegas, Henderson, Southern Highlands, Mountain’s Edge, Southwest, Summerlin and more. PoolStar cleans and maintains your pool; employing a close-knit team of 11 certified technicians that you will meet in upcoming blogs. Kevin continues to run the business along with PoolStar Manager Cody and Lead Technician Troy. In the years since PoolStar started, Kevin has married and has two kids. A hidden talent/fun fact is that Kevin speaks Spanish. His passion is still travel which he does as much as he can fit in along with mountain-biking, billiards, and staying in touch with friends and family across the globe. Ironically Kevin is an avid swimmer and can often be found in the pool himself or giving advice to others about all things that keep a pool running smoothly.
